About American Robotics
American Robotics is a Marlborough, Massachusetts-based developer of automated drone systems specializing in agricultural and industrial applications. Founded by Carnegie Mellon and Stanford roboticists, the company was acquired by Ondas Holdings. American Robotics became the first company approved by the FAA to operate fully-automated drones without human operators on-site, a landmark regulatory achievement. Their flagship Scout System is a turn-key solution consisting of three components: Scout, an autonomous AI-powered UAS with visual and multispectral cameras; ScoutBase, a weatherproof base station serving as nerve center for housing, charging, data processing and transfer; and ScoutView, a secure web portal and API for remote system interaction. Once installed within a farmer's field, the system requires no manual intervention to plan, fly, and manage drone operations—health reports and analysis are seamlessly sent to the farmer. The Scout System features advanced acoustic Detect-and-Avoid (DAA) technology enabling drones to maintain safe distance from other aircraft at all times. Applications span precision agriculture, oil and gas monitoring, and rail infrastructure inspection. The Scout uses proprietary algorithms to intelligently and efficiently scout fields and identify crop stress.
