About Cleo Robotics
Cleo Robotics is a Boston-based company (originally founded in Australia) that developed the world's first stable and highly maneuverable ducted bi-rotor drone for indoor inspection. Founded by Omar Eleryan, who worked in oil and gas and experienced firsthand the dangers of confined space inspections, the company set out to send cameras into hazardous environments instead of people. The Dronut X1 (and DD1) is a donut-shaped, collision-tolerant, safe-to-touch drone weighing less than one pound and measuring only 6.5 inches in diameter. Cleo's patented thrust vectoring technology makes the hyper-efficient ducted fan design stable in flight for the first time ever. The enclosed propellers enable safe bouncing off objects and people without harm risk. Features include LiDAR-powered obstacle detection, HD video/picture capture, 3D point cloud output, and Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered pilot assist. Applications include industrial inspections of tanks, pressure vessels, and crawl spaces; law enforcement operations; and defense/government missions. The Dronut can navigate indoors, operate in tight and confined spaces, and is reliable in GPS-denied environments where traditional drones cannot operate. Recognized with an RBR50 Award for thrust vectoring innovation.
