About Endiatx
Endiatx is a Hayward, California-based medical robotics company developing PillBot, the world's first low-cost, disposable, remote-controlled endoscopy pill designed to revolutionize gastrointestinal diagnostics. Founded in 2019 by aerospace engineers Torrey Smith (CEO) and Alex Luebke (CTO), the company has raised approximately million in funding. PillBot is a pistachio-sized device (13mm x 30mm) that patients swallow, providing live video of the stomach interior without requiring anesthesia, pre-operative visits, or multiple medical professionals. The device features three pump jet thrusters for self-propulsion and maneuverability, a 480x480 resolution camera streaming at 10fps, a high-bandwidth wireless transceiver for real-time data transmission, and a lithium-ion battery for extended runtime. The responsive software interface allows physicians to remotely control the device and receive diagnostic results in approximately 10 minutes. Approximately 75 million patients annually undergo invasive stomach endoscopy, with traditional procedures costing up to ,000, requiring multiple clinic visits, and averaging 3-month wait times. PillBot aims to dramatically reduce these barriers to gastrointestinal care. The device is currently undergoing clinical trials in New Zealand with FDA pivotal trial expected by mid-2025. Future plans include Pill Surgeon for treatment capabilities beyond diagnostics. Featured in TED, VentureBeat, Adam Savage's Tested, and NewsNation, PillBot represents a breakthrough in making stomach diagnostics accessible and affordable. Note: PillBot remains investigational and is not FDA-cleared or approved.
