About VinMotion

VinMotion is a Hanoi, Vietnam-based humanoid robotics company established in January 2025 by Vietnamese tech conglomerate Vingroup, making Vietnam the first Southeast Asian nation to develop a general-purpose humanoid robot. The company has $39 million in initial funding, with Vingroup holding 51%, chairman Pham Nhat Vuong (Vietnam's richest man) owning 39%, and his two sons sharing 10%. Led by chairman and chief scientific officer Quan Nguyen, the team developed their first prototype Motion_1 in just three months and has since built and tested five prototype versions. Motion_1 demonstrates stable walking, dynamic balancing, and synchronized multi-robot choreography, capable of interacting using basic gestures and voice commands with semi-autonomous human-in-the-loop controls. The humanoids are being tested at VinFast (Vietnam's first global car brand), Vinpearl, and Vinmec, starting with transporting parts and repetitive tasks. VinMotion is developing Super Motion for heavy-duty industrial applications and has opened a California office for further development. The company plans versatile robots for manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and customer service across Vingroup's business ecosystem.
